During the fall 2012 Mustache4Cash & Color4Kidz fundraising season
Youth Opportunity Foundation raised over $71,545.41, to be distributed to three
Denver non profit organizations engaged in mentoring youth.
During October and November, the Youth Opportunity Foundation engaged nearly 1,300 young professional community members, who either grew mustaches or colored their hair for donations from family, friends, and colleagues.
The money raised will be presented to two Denver beneficiaries (Denver Urban Scholars and The Bridge Project) on December 18, 2012 at 12:30 PM - at the Art Gallery at the DPAC.
Community and press are encouraged to attend.
Location: The Art Gallery at the DPAC (Denver Performing Arts Complex) | 1000 14th St #B, Denver, Colorado 80202
The Current on-time graduation rate in Denver Public Schools is only 56%.
By not graduating from high school, At Risk Youth face significantly more obstacles for the rest of their lives. One example - the public cost of a single high school student not graduating - can be in excess of $200,000 in social services over the course of their life.
Our goal is simple: Change Denver's graduation-rate numbers for the better, helping At Risk Youth create greater opportunity within their lives, strengthening futures and communities all at the same time. We are seeking volunteers to help us make an even bigger impact in 2012.
• YOF is a small organization, run almost entirely by volunteers. Therefore, it has very low overhead so more of all donations go directly to the beneficiaries.
• Approximately 93 cents of every dollar we raise goes directly to the beneficiaries.
Youth Opportunity Foundation organizes and hosts three unique fundraising events each year, with proceeds benefiting Colorado Youth At Risk, Byrne Urban Scholars and other organizations providing mentoring, educational opportunities and life experiences to at-risk youth. Young Professionals network at these events, feel good about giving back to the community, and have fun.

Mustache4Cash / Color4Kidz is a fundraiser started in 2004 by the Youth Opportunity Foundation, a Colorado 501(c)(3) dedicated to raising money and awareness for Denver based charities focused on the needs of "at-risk" youth.
Youth Opportunity Foundation engages men ("Growers") to grow mustaches and women ("Colorers") to color their hair, obtaining sponsorship from colleagues, friends, and family to raise money for the benefit of Denver non-profits serving "at-risk" youth.
Funds raised over the four weeks of the events directly benefit Byrne Urban Scholars, The Bridge Project, and Colorado Youth At Risk.
